… The Power of a Balanced Life …

The Steele House helps residents have the ability to balance their lives using these five facets to ensure sobriety and a healthy, balanced life.

Spiritual Growth

The environment of the home is one of a spiritual nature; the Steele House believes in honoring and obeying natural laws and living by such laws.  A relationship with some kind of Higher Power is essential during recovery.   The act of turning one’s life over, surrendering and letting go is a key component of the program.  These principles and ideas are enforced on a daily basis by creating a safe, stable and calming environment; having a safe harbor to come home to during the storms of addiction is essential.

Emotional Health

Having an emotionally stable environment is essential during early sobriety.  That is why the environment of The Steele House is handled with care.  Violence, isolating and negative language are not encouraged at The Steele House.  Residents are taught, through example and with the support of a therapist, how to process and work through situations and triggers that arise while facing real-world experiences.

Physical Well Being

The Steele House encourages residents to focus on their physical well being.  Gym memberships are available for those interested.

The house is nestled among the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  Behind the house are walking and biking trails, climbing areas and an abundance of outdoor activities available within walking distance.  The mountains also offer a quiet space to retreat and meditate.

Mental Health

The importance of continuing counseling and treatment once transitioned from a more rigorous program is emphasized by the presence of a licensed and professional clinical team which provides: weekly individual counseling and monthly family counseling.  If the loved ones lives out of state or long distance, these sessions can be done via conference call.  Residents are in the care of a professional team that is dedicated to their recovery.

Vocational Pursuits

Establishing employment encourages sobriety because it keeps residents active and achieving their goals. The Steele House encourages and supports residents in finding employment, achieving vocational goals – such as educational pursuits – and continuing to choose a career path that works for them in the future. Residents are given the tools and confidence to: create a strong resume, interview effectively and build upon their resume.
